|From our data center service provider:|
“This is an update to what we now believe to have been a security incident which impacted a portion of 365 Data Centers cloud environment on May 14, 2022. We continue to work diligently to collect additional information to identify the source of the abnormal activity, ensure the integrity of our environment, and to confirm that there is no residual activity that may further inhibit our ability to restore cloud service operations.
We have found no evidence that any customer data has been accessed. We want to assure you that your data and systems operating in our cloud environment are encrypted while in operation and at rest.”
The three data centers in the northeast are still offline. Our provider is going to scan everything to make sure there is no residual activity. The BizBudding cloud environment is encrypted and intact.
To date, there have been no alerts to suggest there is ongoing abnormal activity on 365 Data Centers networks or systems.
They did say that it will be a few more days to scan their three data centers and begin the live restoration process. While this is extremely frustrating and disappointing for everyone it gives us some guidance on how and what to communicate with you and your customers.
I will be writing up a summary that you can send to your customers.
We are working with our provider to understand what additional measures they are taking to prevent a multi-location geographic catastrophe in the future. I will update you with that information, along with additional changes we intend to make, and tools you should begin using in a future email.
