We thought it important to not have the websites return errors to your visitors. We created a new system that will enable you to provide a branded, custom message to your website visitors during the outage. We are as concerned about SEO as you are too, so we spoke to our friends at Google and came up with a way to provide this custom message and to return a 503 status to the Google Crawler for your website. The 503 status tells Google (or any bot for that matter) that the website is temporarily unavailable. We are beginning to roll this out to everyone as I type this update. For now, we plan on using the message below along with your logo. |
A cloud provider that is part of our website infrastructure is experiencing an outage and that is preventing you from accessing our website. I have been assured that all of my website data is secure and encrypted and that as soon as the outage is fixed our website will be back online. Thank you for your patience while we wait for this very unusual situation to be rectified. |
We hope that you use some version (or the exact copy) on your social media and in your emails to your contacts. We are in active communication with our service provider and will keep you updated. In the meantime, we are going to roll this new system out. Right now it’s a manual process for us, but we’ll get it done today. Thanks for your patience and support. |
